   now i’m here… (Queen reference)

   this has got to be like the 4 millionth internet site that i have signed up for. i remember way back in 1992, when getting online felt new and unexplored… America Online was the only thing we knew. A bunch of friends and I were huddled together in this small Babylon, NY apartment on the second floor, my friend Algernon’s birthday party. about 8 of us huddled around his computer, looking out in awe, as we saw the internet, in all its glory, shiny and brand new. We clicked on everything, and anything… no porno popups to worry about or viruses. not yet… we stumbled into an AOL chat room. it gave us many options, and my friend pressed the button that led us into the Gay chatroom… we didnt know what we were doing, but somebody on the page was prompting us to to talk… we were trying to find our way out of the room, when finally we typed, “Three gay guys were in a bathtub… a condom floats to the top, and one of them asks, ‘Who farted?’” there was an awkward silence, and then they responded saying, well, at least he had something to say… anyway from there we had friendster, myspace, youtube, facebook, twitter and many other sites and places that have come and gone and now i’m here, on tumblr… i dont know exactly how this is much more than maybe a morph between facebook and twitter… but i guess i will give it a test run
